It’s a rare pleasure to be part of project that directly benefits both the local community and yours truly. As a musician, I often end up designing recording studios and live music venues that I actually work in as a performer.
Sam Bond was an auto mechanic who built this garage building nearly a hundred years ago. We worked with the local chapter of the National Register of Historic Buildings to negotiate a design that would maintain the integrity of the original structure while making changes that would accommodate the long term viability of the restaurant/bar and music venue it was becoming, including walk-in coolers, accessible bathrooms and a stage that opens out to the bustling backyard.
